2020 Ford F-150
Gasoline engine air filter replacement for the 2020 Ford F-150. The owner's manual lists Motorcraft FA-1883 and a four-step housing procedure.
Difficulty, time, and cost are estimates when this guide gives them. Torque is a cited figure, or it is left off.
Main source: 2020 F-150 Owner's Manual, changing the engine air filter, gasoline (opens in a new tab), Ford Motor Company, published 2019-07-01, read 2026-10-15.
Numbers on this page come from the cited source. Match the engine before you use a capacity or a torque. Do not work under a vehicle held only by a jack.
No driver size is named
The gasoline procedure says to release the clamps and lift the cover. It does not name a socket or a screwdriver.
| Item | Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Air filter element, gasoline engines in the parts tables | Motorcraft FA-1883 | Motorcraft parts tables for the 2.7L, 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost, and 5.0L |
On a gasoline engine, release the clamps that hold the air filter cover to the housing.
Carefully lift the air filter housing cover and remove the element from the housing.
Install in reverse. The Motorcraft element listed for the 2.7L EcoBoost, 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost, and 5.0L is FA-1883. Change it on the schedule in the manual.
The diesel section says to remove the clips, lift and rotate the cover, replace the element, and then reset the restriction gauge by pressing its button. The gauge is in the upper housing. This gasoline sheet does not redraw either housing. The manual's figures are not described in words.
The gasoline procedure is four written steps and a warning. It does not say how many clamps there are or which edge of the cover lifts first. A box drawing would add those details, so there is no diagram. Open the owner's manual if you need the figure that sits next to the steps.
