Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant
Add a 50/50 mix with distilled water to a cold reservoir, to the FULL COLD level or the COLD FILL RANGE.

With the engine cold, the level should be at FULL COLD or inside the COLD FILL RANGE marked on the reservoir.
Use Motorcraft Premium Gold or equivalent meeting WSS-M97B51-A1, mixed 50/50 with distilled water. Fill only to the mark. Do not pour in the whole capacity unless you are doing the fill the capacity table describes.
2.3L manual is 5.3 quarts (5.0 L). 2.3L automatic is 6.3 quarts (6.0 L). 3.0L is 10.6 quarts (10.0 L) with no transaxle split on that line.
An emergency top-up with a large amount of water is allowed only to reach a service location, and the guide says the system must then be drained and refilled with 50/50 coolant and distilled water. Stop-leak pellets meeting WSS-M99B37-B6 can darken Premium Gold from yellow to golden tan. That note is not a reason to change coolant type.
