It is not printed in the 2008 Escape owner's guide. The parts footnote sends spark plug replacement to an authorized dealer. Get the Ford service procedure before you tighten a plug.

In-depth guide
2008 Ford Escape
2008 Ford Escape spark plug gap and firing sequence for the 2.3L and 3.0L. The owner's guide sends replacement to a dealer and prints no plug torque.
Difficulty, time, and cost are estimates when this guide gives them. Torque is a cited figure, or it is left off.
Main source: 2008 Escape (204) Owner's Guide, USA, engine data and Motorcraft parts (opens in a new tab), Ford Motor Company, published 2008-01-01, read 2026-10-15.
Numbers on this page come from the cited source. Match the engine before you use a capacity or a torque. Do not work under a vehicle held only by a jack.
None listed for removal
The owner's guide does not name a socket, a gap tool, or a torque for this job. It sends replacement to a dealer.

Firing sequence from the 2008 Escape owner's guide engine data table. Sequence only.
Illustration, not to scale; confirm with your owner's manual. This is the firing sequence only. It does not show where each cylinder sits on the engine.
Source for this drawing: 2008 Escape (204) Owner's Guide, USA, engine data table.
The engine-data table has two columns. Use the one on the car.
The Motorcraft spark plug cells do not print a number. Footnote 3 says to see an authorized dealer and to use plugs that meet Ford material and design specifications, such as Motorcraft or equivalent.
The owner's guide does not say how to release a coil, what the plug tightens to, or how far to turn it.
1-3-4-2 is the 2.3L order. 1-4-2-5-3-6 is the 3.0L order. The drawing repeats those orders and does not locate the cylinders.
The two gaps sit on successive lines of the engine-data table, first column then second column. The 2.3L line is 0.049-0.053 inch (1.25-1.35 mm). The 3.0L line is 0.052-0.056 inch (1.32-1.42 mm). Compression ratio in the same table is 9.7:1 on the 2.3L and 10.0:1 on the 3.0L.
The drive-belt routing in that table is a figure for each engine. It is not a plug procedure, and the path is not described in text. See the serpentine belt guide.
Oil capacity for the pan job is on the oil and filter guide, not here.
Outbound links only. BaySheet does not sell parts. Confirm fitment on the retailer page. Amazon links are searches for the part name plus this vehicle. They are not a part number.

No. The engine-data table prints 0.049-0.053 inch (1.25-1.35 mm) for the 2.3L and 0.052-0.056 inch (1.32-1.42 mm) for the 3.0L.
1-3-4-2 on the 2.3L I4. 1-4-2-5-3-6 on the 3.0L DOHC V6. That is the sequence in the table. The table does not say where cylinder 1 sits.
