With the engine cold, read the reservoir between MIN and MAX and check concentration at the scheduled interval. The book wants 48 to 50 percent on a refractometer.
If the cold level is at or below minimum, unscrew the cap slowly, add the WSS-M97B44-D2 prediluted coolant, and turn the cap clockwise until it resists. Recheck over the next few drives.
Pull off safely, leave the engine in Park and running until the needle returns. If it does not drop after several minutes, shut off, wait for it to cool, and check the level. Do not open a hot cap.
Coolant quantities are not interchangeable across the four engines in this printing. The 2.0L all-wheel-drive fuel-tank split is in the same chapter and is not a coolant figure.
In extremely cold climates the book says concentration may need to go above 50 percent, and that 60 percent improves the freeze point. It does not print a different quart capacity for that mix.
The oil guide is the other fill from this capacity chapter. No cooling-system diagram is drawn here. The under-hood legend names the reservoir and does not give a measured layout.
