2024 Tacoma oil is ILSAC GF-6A SAE 0W-20. Drain-and-refill with the filter is 5.9 qt for the T24A-FTS.

Park on level ground. With the engine at operating temperature, turn it off and wait about 5 minutes so the oil can drain back. Hold a rag under the dipstick, pull it, wipe it, seat it fully, and pull it again. The level should be above the low level mark. The dipstick shape can differ by vehicle. If the level exceeds the refill upper limit, contact a Toyota dealer.
The oil is Toyota Genuine Motor Oil or equivalent meeting ILSAC GF-6A, viscosity SAE 0W-20. SAE 0W-20 is the best choice for fuel economy and cold starting. If it is not available, SAE 5W-20 may be used, and it must be replaced with SAE 0W-20 at the next oil change. Remove the filler cap counterclockwise. Add oil slowly while you check the dipstick. The span from the low level mark to the refill upper limit is 1.5 qt (1.4 L, 1.2 Imp. qt.). Install the cap clockwise and make sure it is tight.
With the filter, the reference capacity is 5.9 qt (5.6 L, 4.9 Imp. qt.). Without the filter it is 5.6 qt (5.3 L, 4.7 Imp. qt.). The footnote says that when you add oil, the level must not exceed the refill upper limit and must sit between the low level mark and the refill upper limit. That footnote says to warm the engine, turn it off, wait about 8 minutes, and then check the dipstick. The level-check steps on the maintenance page say about 5 minutes. Both numbers are in this book.

The engine in this gas book is the T24A-FTS. A hybrid owner's manual was not the book read for this page. Publication OM04011U is the 2025 gas book and has its own oil page, even where a figure matches.
