Run the engine to normal temperature and shut it off. Remove the fill cap. Remove the under-cover screws by turning the Phillips-head and slotted-head screws 90 degrees counterclockwise.
Remove the drain bolt and washer and drain the oil. Remove the remaining under-cover screws the same way if the procedure's next cover is still on. Remove the filter, detach a stuck gasket, wipe the mounting face, and coat the new gasket with new oil.
Install a new washer and torque the drain bolt to 30 lbf-ft (40 N-m, 4.0 kgf-m). Including the filter, pour 3.7 US qt (3.5 L) on the 1.5 L engine or 5.0 US qt (4.8 L) on the 2.0 L engine. The specification tables also list change amounts of 3.4 US qt (3.2 L) and 4.6 US qt (4.4 L).
Install the fill cap, start the engine, and confirm the low oil pressure indicator goes out within five seconds. Run a few minutes, check for leaks, shut off, wait three minutes, and read the dipstick.
The procedure prints the two including-filter capacities next to the 1.5 L and 2.0 L callouts, and the specification tables assign the smaller change figure to the same engines. No oil-filter torque is printed. The under-hood dipstick and fill cap are shown in figures this page does not redraw.
