2019 Nissan Altima
2019 Altima oil grade, drain-and-refill capacity, and drain-plug torque for the PR25DD and the KR20DDET.
Difficulty, time, and cost are estimates when this guide gives them. Torque is a cited figure, or it is left off.
Main source: 2019 Altima Sedan Owner's Manual, engine oil and recommended capacities (opens in a new tab), Nissan North America, Inc., published 2019-01-01, read 2026-10-15.
Numbers on this page come from the cited source. Match the engine before you use a capacity or a torque. Do not work under a vehicle held only by a jack.

| Fastener | Torque | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Oil filter | 11 to 15 ft-lb (14.7 to 20.6 N·m), after more than 2/3 turn | Engine oil and filter procedure |
| Drain plug, with a new washer | 22 to 28 ft-lb (29 to 39 N·m) | Engine oil and filter procedure |
The capacity table lists the PR25DD at 5.1 L with the filter and 4.8 L without it, using 0W-20 SN. The KR20DDET is 4.7 L with the filter and 4.6 L without it, using Ester 5W-30 SN.
Coat the new filter gasket with clean oil. Screw the filter on until slight resistance, then tighten more than 2/3 turn to 11 to 15 ft-lb. Install the drain plug with a new washer at 22 to 28 ft-lb.
Start the engine, check for leaks, shut it off, and wait more than 15 minutes. Add oil only if the dipstick asks for it.
The filter illustration is captioned for the PR25DD. The torque sentences sit in the shared oil-change procedure. Capacities are approximate, and the dipstick is the final check.
