The specification lists Genuine Honda Motor Oil 0W-20 or an API premium-grade 0W-20 detergent oil. Synthetic oil is allowed when it carries that seal and the specified viscosity.
Put a new washer on the drain bolt. Tightening torque is 29 lbf·ft (40 N·m, 4.0 kgf·m). Apply a light coat of new engine oil to the filter gasket, and follow the filter maker's instructions.
The procedure's engine-oil change capacity, including the filter, is 5.7 US qt (5.4 L). The specification table also prints a change capacity of 5.4 US qt (5.1 L) on the row that is not labeled including filter. After filling, run the engine, check for leaks, shut it off, wait three minutes, and read the dipstick.
Park on level ground and wait about three minutes after shutdown before reading the dipstick. The low oil pressure indicator should go off within five seconds of starting. If it does not, the manual says to turn the engine off and check the work.
