Honda Long-Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2
If Honda coolant is unavailable, a high-quality non-silicate coolant for aluminum engines may be used temporarily, then the system must be flushed and refilled with Honda coolant.

The specified coolant is Honda Long-Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2, premixed 50 percent antifreeze and 50 percent water. The specification ratio is 50/50 with distilled water.
Elite and Touring capacity is 1.69 US gal (6.38 L). Every other grade in this table is 1.68 US gal (6.37 L). Both figures include the 0.19 US gal left in the reserve tank.
Check the reserve tank when the engine and radiator are cool. If the level is below MIN, add the specified coolant until it reaches MAX.
No bleed sequence is printed beyond checking the reserve tank and the radiator if the tank is empty, so none is added. Continued use of a non-Honda coolant can cause corrosion. The manual says to flush and refill with Honda coolant as soon as possible.
