Cold-weather TPMS

A cold night can turn a tire light on without a puncture. This page repeats only the sentences already filed from an owner's manual. It does not add a pressure.

Toyota warning light

On the Camry, Corolla, and RAV4 guides linked below, the manual says the tire pressure warning light may come on from natural air leaks or from inflation changes caused by temperature. Adjusting the inflation pressure turns the light off after a few minutes. If the light blinks for about a minute and then stays on, those books say there may be a malfunction. The menu steps are not the same on every year, so the reset stays on that car's tire page.

2024 Silverado 1500

The 2024 Silverado 1500 tire page cites a different sentence. The low tire pressure warning light may come on in cool weather when the truck is first started, then turn off as it is driven. That can mean the pressure is getting low. Set the Tire and Loading Information label. That book does not print one cold psi for every truck.

Left off this page

  • A psi drop per degree. None of these manuals print one.
  • A cold-cranking amp rating. The battery guides that were read do not print one.
  • A reset procedure copied from one year onto another. Open the guide that matches the truck.

The winter car prep page links the battery, coolant, wiper, and oil-dilution guides as well.
