2019 Hyundai Elantra
2019 Hyundai Elantra drain-and-refill oil capacity. The 1.6 T-GDI takes 4.76 qt of SAE 5W-30. The 2.0 MPI takes 4.23 qt of SAE 5W-20.
Difficulty, time, and cost are estimates when this guide gives them. Torque is a cited figure, or it is left off.
Main source: 2019 Elantra Owner's Manual, recommended lubricants and capacities (opens in a new tab), Hyundai Motor Company, published 2019-01-01, read 2026-10-15.
Numbers on this page come from the cited source. Match the engine before you use a capacity or a torque. Do not work under a vehicle held only by a jack.
Funnel
The manual says to clean around a filler plug or dipstick before you add oil, especially in dust.
| Item | Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 1.6 T-GDI, drain and refill | 4.76 US qt (4.5 L). SAE 5W-30. API latest (ILSAC latest) or ACEA A5/B5 or above. | 2019 Elantra owner's manual recommended lubricants table |
| 2.0 MPI, drain and refill | 4.23 US qt (4.0 L). SAE 5W-20. API latest (ILSAC latest). | 2019 Elantra owner's manual recommended lubricants table |
For a drain and refill, the 2019 table lists 4.76 US qt (4.5 L) for the 1.6 T-GDI and 4.23 US qt (4.0 L) for the 2.0 MPI.
The 1.6 T-GDI row calls for SAE 5W-30 meeting API latest (ILSAC latest) or ACEA A5/B5 or above. The 2.0 MPI row calls for SAE 5W-20 meeting API latest (ILSAC latest). The manual also says to read the temperature chart before the next change.
Clean around the filler and the dipstick before you open them. The table is a drain-and-refill volume. It does not say to add that much oil to an engine that still has oil in it, and it does not print a drain-plug torque.
The same manual page lists transmission fluids. Those rows are not engine oil and are not used here. No diagram is included. The page tells you to clean the plug area. It does not say where the plug is.
Outbound links only. BaySheet does not sell parts. Confirm fitment on the retailer page. Amazon links are searches for the part name plus this vehicle. They are not a part number.
