What torque do the caliper bolts get?
That torque was not in the pages read. The lug-nut figure is on the wheel lug nut guide and is not a caliper torque.

2018 Ford F-150
2018 Ford F-150 brake pads and rotors are an inspection in the owner's manual. No pad thickness, rotor minimum, or caliper torque is printed.
Difficulty, time, and cost are estimates when this guide gives them. Torque is a cited figure, or it is left off.
Main source: 2018 F-150 Owner's Manual, edition date 201709, third printing, brakes and scheduled maintenance (opens in a new tab), Ford Motor Company, published 2018-02-01, read 2026-10-15.
Numbers on this page come from the cited source. Match the engine before you use a capacity or a torque. Do not work under a vehicle held only by a jack.
Torque wrench
For the lug nuts after a wheel comes off. The figure and the order are on the wheel lug nut guide. The order is a figure and is not redrawn.
Jack and jack stands
Do not work under a truck held only by a jack. Loosen the lug nuts before the wheel is off the ground, and finish tightening only after it is lowered, as the lug guide says.
| Item | Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Normal inspection | At every oil-change interval indicated by the information display, inspect the brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses, and parking brake. Do not exceed one year or 10,000 mi (16,000 km) between service intervals. | Normal maintenance intervals |
| Dusty or sandy roads | Operating in Dusty or Sandy Conditions (Such as Unpaved or Dusty Roads): inspect the brake system pads and rotors every 7,500 mi (12,000 km). | Special operating conditions |
| Brake fluid | Motorcraft DOT 4 LV High Performance Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid, PM-20, specification WSS-M6C65-A2. The level is between the MIN and MAX marks on the reservoir. Use fluid from a sealed container. | Capacities and specifications, brake fluid |
| What is not printed | No pad minimum thickness, rotor minimum thickness, caliper-bolt torque, or pad and rotor part number was in the pages read. The 3-year brake-fluid change from the 2020 book is not on the 2018 normal-schedule page that was read. | This page. Those figures stay off until a service procedure for this truck is cited. |
Do not exceed one year or 10,000 mi (16,000 km) between service intervals. Operating in Dusty or Sandy Conditions (Such as Unpaved or Dusty Roads): inspect the brake system pads and rotors every 7,500 mi (12,000 km).
A fluid level between the MAX and MIN lines is within the normal operating range. A level that is not in that range means have the vehicle checked immediately. Use only the recommended fluid, from a sealed container. This printing's check page does not use the numbered steps or figure E170684 from the 2020 book.
No caliper torque, pad thickness, or rotor minimum was in the owner's manual pages that were read. Get the Ford service procedure for this truck before you remove a caliper bolt. The manual does not split that missing thickness by front and rear.
Lug size, torque, and the 100-mile recheck are on the [wheel lug nut guide](/vehicles/ford/f-150/2018/wheel-lug-nuts). Clean the hub and the wheel mounting surfaces. Do not use that torque on a caliper.
Open the owner's manual (opens in a new tab) for the brake-fluid reservoir figure if this printing has one. This page does not redraw it. The wheel goes back on with the wheel lug nut guide.
Left out, because these pages do not print them: pad minimum thickness, rotor minimum thickness, rotor runout, caliper-pin torque, bracket torque, and pad or rotor part numbers, front and rear. Also left out: the 2020 book's 3-year brake-fluid change, and figure E170684, which this printing's check page does not use.
Outbound links only. BaySheet does not sell parts. Confirm fitment on the retailer page. Amazon links are searches for a real part name plus this vehicle. Tool rows do not get a product search. The search is not a part number.

That torque was not in the pages read. The lug-nut figure is on the wheel lug nut guide and is not a caliper torque.
No minimum is printed for the front or the rear. This page does not supply one.
The inspection line names pads, shoes, rotors, drums, linings, hoses, and the parking brake together. It does not print a different thickness for each axle.
The maintenance checklist is on the site now. The email list is not sending yet, so this box will not store an address.
Same repair, different model year. Use the page that matches the truck or car in the driveway. A figure on one year is not a figure for the next.
These guides cover the same kind of work. Their numbers belong to those vehicles, not to this one.
