Turn the engine switch off. Open the glove box and remove the glove box cover inside the glove box.
Unlock the filter cover. Move the filter cover in the direction of the arrow, then pull it out of the claws. Remove the filter case. There may be foreign objects on top of the filter.
Remove the air conditioning filter from the filter case and replace it with a new one. The UP marks on the filter and the filter case should point up.
The 2019 Camry owner's manual puts the cabin filter behind the glove box cover. Inspect and replace it on the maintenance schedule. In dusty areas or heavy traffic, earlier replacement may be required. The booklet named on that page is the "Schedule maintenance guide" or the "Owner's Manual Supplement."
If airflow from the vents drops, the filter may be clogged. A deodorizing filter can lose that effect quickly when fragrances are placed in the vehicle. If an air conditioning odor continues, replace the filter. The arrow on the cover is a figure, so this page does not redraw it.
