| Brake fluid | If a Maintenance Minder message for item 7 does not appear for more than 36 months after the display is reset, change the brake fluid every 3 years. | Footnote *5 |
Maintenance main item B says replace the engine oil and filter and inspect the front and rear brakes, along with the other listed chassis items.
The brakes section says the noise comes from the brake wear indicator rubbing on the brake rotor and indicates that the brake pads need to be replaced. Have the vehicle checked by a dealer.
Footnote *5 says if a Maintenance Minder message does not appear more than 36 months after the display for item 7 is reset, change the brake fluid every 3 years. No DOT specification was on that footnote.
The first 200 miles (300 km) after the pads or rotors are replaced are a break-in period in this book. That sentence does not give a thickness. A screeching sound when the pedal is applied is answered, on the U.S. models page, as the pads may need to be replaced and the vehicle should be inspected by a dealer.
The wear-indicator paragraph is more specific: constant noise is the indicator rubbing the rotor. An occasional squeak or squeal on the first application can be normal. No millimeter limit is printed, so this page does not borrow one from a Toyota table.

The manual says to replace the pads when the wear indicator rubs the rotor. It does not print a pad part number or a minimum thickness.
